What makes textiles irresistibly beautiful is much more than meets the eye. The true quality of a fabric depends on the quality of the raw materials used and their careful processing.
Security through tradition
Behind every duvet cover and every bed sheet by Christian Fischbacher lies a process that often began 100 years ago. From the cultivation of the crops to the finishing of the fabrics, we know each of our producers and suppliers personally. Long-term business relationships and short supply chains through manufacturers in Europe are not only sustainable, but also reliably guarantee consistent quality standards.
100 per cent natural
We use exclusively natural fibres for our bed linen: long-staple cotton, linen and silk. Only these yarns provide the desirable properties we want for our bed linen. They are absorbent and dimensionally stable, regulate body temperature, absorb moisture and provide an incomparable sleeping experience. Thanks to the highest quality, ecologically sound dyes and the best pre- and post-treatments, Christian Fischbacher allows you to sleep safely free from harmful substances.

Jersey: soft, comfortable and easy-care
Knitted, not woven
„Jersey generally refers to fabrics whose yarns are not woven, but knitted. This type of processing ensures a high degree of elasticity.
For all those who want to make life easy for themselves, yet never want to compromise on sleeping comfort and an appealingly designed bedroom, cotton jersey is the answer. Most people know the fabric from T-shirts and comfortable casual wear. However, when it comes to bed linen, it can shine just as brightly with its (silky) qualities.
Our cotton jersey bed linen is cosy in every respect. Cotton jersey is one of the most pleasant fabric qualities of all, providing a soft feel against the skin in both summer and winter.
The jersey fabric drapes just as smoothly over duvets, pillows and mattresses. It is a delight to run your bare feet over an always crease-free fitted sheet and rest your head on a wrinkle-free pillow. Our cotton jersey is non-iron, or at least low-maintenance. If necessary, it can be ironed on a medium setting.
Made in Switzerland
The jersey used by Christian Fischbacher is of excellent quality and is manufactured in Switzerland. It consists of 100 per cent cotton without any added synthetic fibres and is OEKO-TEX ® Standard 100 certified. For many decades we have trusted our Swiss partners, who ensure the highest consistent standard.
They produce the exceptionally fine jersey fabric on the circular knitting machine, with a final weight of just 140 grams per m². A real treat for demanding skin.
We use exclusively twisted yarn. This ensures that the bed linen retains its shape and does not warp, despite its elasticity, even after many washes.
The jersey fabrics are also dyed and caustic-treated in Switzerland: This is a complex finishing process, similar to mercerisation, which enhances the sheen and makes the colours vibrant.

Plain satin and printed satin: luxurious sheen and elegance
Pima extra long staple cotton
With satin, we interpret fine cotton in yet another way. For our satin bed linen, both in solid colours and with Christian Fischbacher's unmistakable prints, we use only the highest quality Pima extra-long-staple cotton.
Pima refers to one of the highest quality cottons in the world. What is special about this cotton is its extra-long fibres, which make Pima cotton twice as strong as ordinary cotton. They are resistant to warping, breaking and tearing, and ensure that the fabric remains supple, beautiful and lustrous even after years of use, without piling.
Woven in „Swiss finish“
For the satin by Christian Fischbacher, the yarn is woven using the so-called „Swiss setting“. This special weave, combined with the use of the fine material, gives an unmistakable sheen typical of first-class satin fabrics. It makes it possible to produce particularly soft and light fabrics that are at the same time characterised by their robustness and durability.
With a weight of just 110 grams per m², our satin fabrics are at the lower weight limit for cotton satin. The grammage describes the feel of a fabric: lighter satin fabrics feel airy and supple, and they are particularly breathable. Our cotton satin quality combines luxurious lightness with the utmost durability.
Fil-à-Fil: fine melange look with timeless charm
weaving thread by thread
Fil-à-fil does not refer to the fabric quality itself, but rather to the visual appearance created by the weave. The term fil-à-fil comes from the French, meaning roughly „thread by thread“. In this weaving technique, a white yarn and a coloured yarn are woven alternately in the warp and weft. This creates a fine mélange look with an iridescent character that gives the fabric depth. The subtle colour effect is unmistakable and can only be achieved through this processing method.
Italian production made from the highest quality extra-long staple Pima cotton
For our fil-à-fil, we use without exception the highest quality extra-long-staple Pima cotton, which is also used for our satin fabrics. The long cotton fibres, the twisted yarn and the plain weave ensure the extraordinarily robust quality and durability of this fabric. The feather-light weight of just 110 grams per square metre of these fabrics is thanks to the particularly elaborate production, the special weave and the sophisticated finishing. Breathability and absorbency are the inner qualities of this fil-à-fil, which combines easy-care properties with a refined, elegant aesthetic while also impressing with its exceptionally smooth feel, good grip, pleasantly cool sensation and soothingly soft touch on the skin.
All our fil-à-fil fabrics are produced exclusively by a specialised Italian weaver with whom we have worked for many years.

Purolino: naturally breathable
Naturally sustainable
Linen is among the oldest natural fibres to be processed into textiles in human history. Flax was already a cultivated plant of the Neolithic period 10,000 years ago. Yesterday as today, it remains one of the most comfortable materials for a good night's sleep.
From the stems of the unassuming, purple-blue flowers of the flax plants, our Purolino is crafted by a specialised Italian weaving mill. The sustainable natural fibre grows in just 100 days, is particularly environmentally friendly throughout the entire processing procedure and requires no chemicals. The flax for our linen fabrics is cultivated exclusively in Europe, which also shortens supply chains.
However, linen also has a long list of benefits that are important not only for the concept of sustainability, but also for individual well-being.
The extraordinarily stable and tear-resistant fibre can be spun very finely and is densely woven in our Purolino. This creates fabrics with a weight of 125 grams per m² that are at the same time very robust and withstand many washing cycles without damage. Linen even becomes softer and more pleasant on the skin over the years.
All-rounder linen
However, that is not the only reason the cover for your favourite snuggle blanket is made of linen. Linen fabric is naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial. What is more, it is breathable and temperature-regulating, making it ideal as summer bedding. Purolino absorbs up to 20 percent of its weight in moisture and dries exceptionally quickly. This ensures that the physical sensation beneath a linen bedding set is fresh, cool and dry. A true delight on warm summer nights.
